AC1750 R6400 Updated firmware to latest version, now internet not working
I have AC1750 R6400, it has been working great without a problem. Yesterday, I updated the firmware to latest version. Afterwards, the internet is not working. What is confusing, when I go to routerlogin.net it says internet status is good, and everything works fine, and there is an IP address, but when you open a web browser nothing is loading at all. I tried so many things to trouble shoot this but nothing worked including: restarting the modem few times. Restarting the router reverting to older firmware versions, several of them down to the initial release, and all without help. I also tried a hard reset and setup the whole thing from scratch twice. I returned it back to the latest firmware since nothing works anyways. Here is where I am at now: AC1750 Router with most recent firmware, internet status on routerlogin.net is good, but I can NOT actually browse the internet. Any ideas, or thoughts to help.
- Thanks for your help. I gave up and went back to best buy and they exchanged it for me. The new one works well after update so far. Again thank you for your hep

Hi shnw,
1. Have you tried bypassing the router and checking the connection straight from the modem?
2. Have you tried MAC spoofing? If not, you can check the link below.

- shnwAspirantI checked the internet directly from the modem and it works great with speeds even above my package.
So it is not an isp or modem issue I think.
The internet came back spontaneously through the router for few days but has been slow , way below my package which is 200 mbps but I have been getting 9 through the router.
Today I am back to the non working status where it says good connection status yet nothing is working.
I tried mac spoofing using the pc mac and then the modem mac but neither worked, they changed the internet status to not connected.- DexterJBNETGEAR Moderator
Hi shnw,
Try changing the MTU. Check the links below for the steps.
