AC1750 won't accept security question answers.

Everytime I try to log in to my router's program page, I can't get the password right. When I try for recovery, it won't accept my answers for security questions. (place of birth, sister's name) Any ideas for how to get in? Router works fine, but I need to acces the programming page.

  •    "AC1750" is a speed, not a model number.  Ever helpful, Netgear
product packaging emphasizes speeds like "ACxxxx", but that's not the
model identifier.  Look at the product label.

       Is that accurate?

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Read.  Look for
"Factory Default Settings".  Then reconfigure the (modem+)router.

Thank you for your help with this. I now have all reset and am able to access my router via the browser. When I looked up the model for the owner's manual, I found that the model # is R6700/AC1750. Had a bit of trouble getting the internet connection back up, but all is well now. Thanks for your help!!

Did you actually set those answers?

There is a bug in some devices in Netgear's implementation of password recovery. You can get locked into a close loop.

If password recovery is enabled, but you have not set the answers to the questions, it keeps sending you back to the beginning of the process because you can't answer the questions.

If the standard factory password (password) does not work, then you will have to factory reset the thing to get back to that. Then either disable password recovery (check the manual for your device) or provide some answers to those questions.

By the way, you have posted your message in the section of this community given over to
General WiFi Routers (Non-Nighthawk). (This is easily done, given Netgear's impenetrable community structure.)

The device listed in your footer, the C6300, is a Cable Modem/Router. You might get better replies, and find other answers, over in the appropriate section:

    Cable Modems & Routers

There is a manual for the C6300 somewhere at the end of this link:
