AC1900 signal degradation?

I have been using a nighthawk ac1900 for a few years. The first year + it had solid range (1000 feet). Now I'm lucky if my signal goes 20 feet. I have upgraded the firmware, i have reset my modem and router hundreds of times. I have 500mbps download (lucky to get 140mbps right beside the router on 5ghz). If I am 20 feet away I'm lucky to get 10mbps. Is this router just shot? Been debating putting dd-wrt on it.

    Which one?

AC1900 is not a reliable guide to model number. Many devices come with an AC tag, but it is essentially a label that Netgear, and other brands, attach to hardware to describe wifi speeds.

Look at the label on the device for the model number.

That is 10 times the expected range for 2.4 GHz wifi.

this post looks very familar with its description of 1000ft range. I know there was another but I didn't respond on it.

Is is an exact copy from a different account. (See the post I linked to.)
