  • You can try recoving it with tftp or nmrpflash.

are you on windows? if so, follow this guide

    https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP

just make sure you enable tftp

    https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10

and here's a video walk through using a tftp client. Use the built in one for windows 10 though. the video is more of an example of how its done.

and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash

I have ran into this issue recently. I have not found a working solution. None of the above have helped. The reset button is unresponsive, and TFTP is unresponsive. If I hold the WPS when booting the boot sequence takes a moment longer, though no access through ethernet that I can find. When holding the WPS button the power light and internet light stay steady momentarily before reverting back to the flashing between power and USB.

If anyone has any other ideas on how to return this to a state that can be flashed that would be great. Thanks

What have you run into recently? Alternate flashing Power/USB Lights? (The subject of this conversation.) Or a TFTP failure?

Do you have the same hardware?

The reset button is unresponsive, and TFTP is unresponsive.

What does "unresponsive" mean in both cases?

What happens when you press the reset button for 20 seconds? Have you tried the more severe version?

        • Press reset for 30 seconds
        • Keep pressing reset while removing power
        • Keep pressing reset for another 30 seconds while apply power

How is TFTP unresponsive? What happens when you try it.

This is a complicated process that comes with all manner of messages and prompts and is very sensitive to timing.

Why are you pressing the WPS button? Is isn't a part of the recovery process.

Unfortunately, Doug_Allison didn't get back so this year old conversation fizzled out with no resolution.
