Attached Devices Often Blank
Model Version: WNDR3300v1 Firmware Version: V1.0.45_1.0.45NA (Latest?) I don’t recall this being this bad in the past, but lately the "Device Name" values in the "Attached Devices" page usually...

That's the default design for the Attached Devices to pick up the NetBIOS name assigned on the devices.

Hello bryguy28,
Welcome to the community!
Have you tried reflashing the firmware and doing a factory reset?
If you have not, kindly do so and let us if it will fix it.
By the way, the firmware can be downloaded from here.

The reboot associated with the f/w update kicked about 10 devices off the router that have yet to return. I can certainly plan a factory reset next, but why in the world to all our Android devices report generic device names: "ANDROID-<16 alpha numeric characters>"?
Thanks,

NETGEAR Routers uses NETBIOS to show the device name.
You may want to check with your device manufacturer to get a better explanation regarding those numbers.

Given that Android (The fastest growing OS on the planet) does not allow the modification of the names passed as the NetBIOS name, and other LINUX devices also do not allow the modification of the NetBIOS name, does it not make sense for NetGear to at least pull the Device name from the Address Reservation when the router is running a DHCP server? If not, why bother to allow us to set a custom Device Name in the Address Reservation?
Thanks,
