Brand new router - wifi signal disappeared after two days
We have moved into our new house and opened up our new router WNDR 4500 (N900 dual bands). My partner bought it a few years back but we never used it.
The first day it showed wifi signal so we started setting up our internet. After a few attempts and calling our internet provider we found out there was an issue with our internet connect.
After 1-2 days we noticed the wifi signal has disappeared. We've tried to reboot the router, power cycle and reset back to factory setting - none of them worked. I understand that our internet wasn't connected so it might be an issue but how come it was showing wifi signal on Day 1 when our internet wasn't not connected?
Any help is really appreciated. I feel like we had no choice but to purchase another router, plus Netgear support does need to charge us if we utilise their service.

You are right about "a few years back". The WNDR4500 dates from 2013. Don't expect much of the N900 wifi.
It has to work alongside the modem that connects you to the Internet. What is the make and model of your modem?
plus Netgear support does need to charge us if we utilise their service.I don't know what you mean by that, but if you set up the router you don't need to pay Netgear anything. ISPs are more likely to charge you rent for devices.
If you mean they want money for support, free support runs out 90 days after you buy the device. It is at least five years since anyone could buy the most recent version (V3) of this router. Netgear stopped supporting it a while back:
NETGEAR End of Service | NETGEAR
You could read the manual for you router.
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
Look for the model number on the label on the device. It is important to have the right version. No V number means V1.
That page will also have any software, firmware and drivers for your device, if they exist.
Begin with the Quick Start/Installation Guide.
There may also be some helpful videos on what to do.
You may have done that already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear gave up on supplying paper manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
