Bridge from Comcast Arris TG862G/CT to AC1750 smart router
Need to bridge a Arris tg862g/ct to a Netgear ac1750
Need to configure Arris tg862g/ct bridge mode with Netgear ac1750 r6400 router. This has voip phone also. on the Xfinity comcast isp
I put the Arris in Bridge mode and connected the arris to the Netgear wan port. The arris is on a 10.0.0.1 network.
I get no internet service from the Netgear. I assume it will use 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway.
How should I configure this to work? I had to turn bridge mode off for now and use it instead of the Netgear.
Hi wawalker1,
1. You can check the link below for the setup procedure for cable connection.
http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/22697
2. You can also try MAC spoofing. The link below may help out.

Sounds like your modem is not in bridge mode. You proved it by being unable to connect to the Internet. One other way is using DMZ.
In my case I have to ask my ISP to switch the modem to bridge mode by dpwn loading different firmware. If you want to try using DMZ,
Google it for procedure.

Hi, I did call Xfinity to put it into bridge mode. They didn't state that thy did a firmware update, but they restarted the gateway and now the enable bridge mode is there now. I tried that. I couldn't get internet from the arris to the Netgear. So I disabled bridge mode until I find out what is wrong/fix it. I have a cat5e ethernet from the lan port in the arris gateway to the wan port on the Netgear.
I can't seem to get into the router interface without the darn Genie. Keeps going in a look when I answer the quetions.
Thanks
- wawalker1AspirantWhen in bridge mode, the Netgear router's internet should be solid white. It is amber

The MAC spoofing and disconnecting/reconnecting the cable worked. Thanks
