Cannot connect to my R6400v2 after the latest firmware update
I just did a firmware update to my R6400v2. It went through the download and installation. When I went to log back into my router, it said it couldn't connect or find that site. I have internet access for my two wired computers that I know of, since I am submitting this on my wired computer. I have tried the following and I still cannot access my router:
Cleared web browser cache
Tried 2 different web browsers (Firefox and Edge)
Putting browser security to standard and turned off tracking protection and pop-blocker
Used 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1, www.routerlogin.net, www.routerlogin.com
Turned off my computer
Cut power to both the Modem and the Router
Pushed the Reset button on the back of the Router
Tried connecting to the router with my computer while the router has no connection to the modem
Checked that my Network Settings has IPv6 is enabled (set to automatically find)
Browser is set to No Proxy
Not understanding why I cannot log into my router after the firmware update. Since I can't log back in, I can't revert to an older firmware version. Not understanding why the physical Reset button on the router did not work for allowing me to log back in. I don't have the Netgear App and I can't download it.
Thank you for any help.

Is that the exact wording of the message you saw?
Cut power to both the Modem and the RouterWhat is that modem? Make and model?
Pushed the Reset button on the back of the RouterWith the power on?

The message when I try to log into my router is as follows:
Unable to connect
An error occurred during a connection to 192.168.1.1
- The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
- If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
- If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
I basically get the same message when I try through Edge.
My modem is working just fine and not the problem, I just turned off everything and restarted them all. The Modem is:
Arris SURFboard, Model SB6183
It's a DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem. Yes, it is compatible with my ISP.
As far as the Reset button, I pushed it when the power was on and another time when it was off.

Straightforward cable modem with no router section to get in the way. That is a common cause of the symptoms you see, hence the question.
My modem is working just fine and not the problem, I just turned off everything and restarted them all.It is important to do this in the right order.Turning things on and off at random doesn't work.
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
- Turn off and unplug modem.
- Turn off router and computers.
- Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on computers and rest of network.
Is everything else working as expected? Your browsers get every else as expected and only fall over when you try the browser graphical user interface (GUI)?
