Cannot Make Wired Connection to R6300v2
I had a webcam w/ a static address 192.168.1.20 plugged into my Netgear R6300v2, and it worked just fine for months. Then one day it stopped working (the router may have been rebooted after a power outage, not sure).DHCP is set to give out addresses between 192.168.1.100 to 255. The web UI interface shows many devices connected via wireless, with addresses higher than 192.16.1.100. Under "wired," the web UI shows nothing connected, and if I ping 192.168.1.20, there is no response.
I tried several things, to no avail:
- rebooting the router,
- changing ethernet cables,
- plugging the webcam into a different jack on the R6300v2,
- setting the webcam to get its address via DHCP.
The router works fine, otherwise. Why can't the webcam connect via wired, suddenly?
Would appreciate any idea ... Thanks.
Thanks for the advice. I did that -- and it was very solid advice -- but it didn't help.
What turned out to be the problem was that the ethernet jacks 1 & 4 were not working, whereas 2 & 3 did. Weird. As soon as I plugged in my webcam to jack 2 or 3, everything worked as expected.

reset to defaults and Use address reservations for the camera. The router will assign same IP all the time to it without You having to change the DHCP range.
set camera to DHCP
