CHECK AGE OF MODEM when updating arouter
I spent hours with tech support trying to install my new Nighthawk router. It turned out that my 21 year old modem was the issue. I installed and activated the new modem, reinstalled Net Gear and then I had internet access again.
I doubt many failed installations are due to a modem as old as mine but it is worth a consideration.

Thanks for the feedback.
Most ISPs would help with this. 21 years old is old and surprised that the ISP would even allow it on there network. Most ISPs would have a check for modems that are not supported on there network. But ya, would be good to know and users generally keep up to date hardware.
Glad you got something new working.
Enjoy.

I'm surprised as well. Most ISP's send repeatedly letters/notifications of devices that old because the network stops supporting them. I'm curious what one you had that was that old and functional.
Who's the ISP?
