Chromebox access to router USB AC1750 not mount
No selection for my router it's an AC1750 not AC1450 Chromebox works fine on internet, setup on ethernet. I have several chromebox's I use for TV connect. I have a thumb drive in each with numorus...

Works with an old windows 8 box, no updates in two years since I removed it from the INet.
Either I can't find the proper SMB Path or netgear readyshare doesn't work with chromebox.
Tried a ASUS and an HP chromebox.
Chromebox & book are the wave of the future for the connected home. Seems Netgear would get with google and solve this.
Links for those with the same problem.

It is model R6400.
Using Chromebox with Network File Shares for Chrome OS installed from Google.
found first problem IP. Now it tries to mount.
smb://192.168.1.0/readyshare/USB_Storage
\\192.168.1.0\readyshare\USB_Storage
Will now try to mount, after a minute it says mount failed.
At least it is trying.
Is there anything wrong with these two logins
Which password does it need to work?
Tried Chromebox login, Admin, whats written on router, etc.
Found this, says it should work! So much conflicting info on subject.

Hi getreal,
1. What is the firmware version of the router?
2. The ReadySHARE feature was tested to only work with Windows and Mac for SMB.
3. Have you tried using your Windows or Mac computer to check if the ReadySHARE feature works?
4. Does FTP or HTTP access work with the Chromebox?

Dexter

Whatever the problem was, I doubt that "192.168.1.0" is the solution.
The all-zeros (".0") and all-ones (".255") addresses are broadcast
addresses -- not what you want to use. The router's default address is
more likely to be 192.168.1.1. - getrealOct 17, 2017AspirantThanks for answering!I'm an old field service mainframe engineer and programmer, things are changing fast.
I have abandon windows after getting hacked and winding up with a keystroke monitor on the computer. Had the best virus scanner too. wound up with thousands on my credit card. I'd rather not ever use windows again as many others are going to chromebox.
Chromebox was hassle free till now. I had a large Internet site it was hacked too.I have several chromeboxes acting as set top boxes with Logitech bluetooth keyboards for TV and doubling as internet Terminals, Ethernet connected.I have Googles "Network File Share for Chrome OS", installed on chromebox.Says it should work.I'm trying to tie them together inhouse. with a common router Thumb drive or hard drive and a .html menu system. Tried the thumb drive no luck so tried a usb hard drive. I can read all the info with netgear geni, so it's all recognized on both.Created a share for a folder, public, no password. It's listed in readyshare.I read there is two possible IP's. Geni lists IP as 192.168.1.1, (1.1) quickly says mount failed. 192.168.1.0 spins for a long time and says mount failed. I'm thinking (1.1) is the correct IP.Tried smb:// 192.168.1.1\USB_Storageand \\192.168.1.1\USB_Storageand \\192.168.1.1\readyshare\Shareand \\192.168.1.1\Share - a folder I created. It does create a folder share.and many other combinations.1. Firmware Router V1.0.2.34_1.0.22Geni says - share name \\readyshare\T_Drive folder T:\and \\readyshare\test folder T:\share\ for what I created.2. Yes http does workI type "Http://readyshare.routerlogin.net/shares" in chrome browser and it connects and I downloaded a file to chromebox. So it's recognized. When mounting google Network File Share for Chrome OS as directed byas per genie Sharename = \\readyshare\T_Drive Folder=T:\Sharename = \\readyshare\test Folder I created = T:\share\what password and username is it looking for? have tried admin PW, chrome PW and several others
