Good afternoon folks, I'm new to the forums and new to home networking in general. I tried searching the forums and online for solutions but I got mixed results and I'm not sure how to proceed forward. Problem: I'm not getting the advertised speed from my ISP while using my router. Conducting a speed test, I only get a maximum of 95 Mbps upload and download. Connecting directly to my Modem, I get the full advertised speed both for my Laptop and PC. I have tried doing a factory reset on the Router and then updating its firmware to the latest version but it still shows 95 Mbps up and down. I made sure in the Nighthawk App that Traffic Meter is turned off. I logged into my Router and went into Advance Settings and made sure that Upstream and Downstream QoS in turned off/unchecked. ISP Plan: Symmetrical internet 600/600 Mbps Modem: Nokia ONT XS-010X-Q Router: R6400 Router Firmware: V1.0.1.78_1.0.50 Thank you! Note: All test were performed using a WIRED connection unless stated otherwise.R6300 Does not recognize USB HDD attached
R6300 Router with upgraded firmware to R6300-V1.0.2.80_1.0.59. WD 16TB HDD attached to the router USB port. Same drive and USB connector works perfectly when attached to a computer but is not recognized by the router. Have checked advanced USB settings and toggle is set to recognize any HDD attached through the USB. After the firmware upgrade and the toggle set above, is there anything else I can try or is this HDD just too big to ever be recognized? Thanks in advance #R6300SolvedNeed to rewire Netgear WNR1000 to modem for xfinity after grandson played havoc with wires; Can't af
#xfinity #NetgearWNR1000 #Legacy xfinity We're remodelling the room with our router and modem, and had to move the system to the next room. While i was busy in another room for a few minutes, my grandson unplugged all of the cables on my router & modem, and now I cannot get the phone or internet to work. I need someone familiar with xfinity wiring systems set-ups to help with what goes where so I can make sure everything went back in the right places, because I can't afford a service call if I simply didn't correctly re-plug cables; If after ensuring they're correct, it still doesn't work, at least I'll know it's beyond my simple powers to diagnose, and will have to find the money for a tech. And if possible, sooner would be better, pretty please, as I care for my 83 year old mom, and she's very upset to be without her internet and landline phone all weekend already. Thanks for any help you can offer!,WNDR3700 V1
I have an old WNDR3700 v1 at the latest firmware and its still functions. I need this as a router in a 2nd home. Since this is so old, ~10 years. What are the security issues with using this, what is it missing that compromises security if any. It seems to work well and I even added a tplink extender in AP mode that provides faster Wifi. Hello there ! i have a little project: basically i would like to give my trusty old Lazer printer some WIFI connectivity. Here's a splanation: i want to use my Netgear R6250's WIFI and USB port to connect my printer, then i have to connect the R6250 to my new modem/router (new isp) but i cannot use an ethernet cable to connect the 2 routers So this has to be done via WIFI I thought maybe using the R6250 as an extender, repeater or Access Point to link the 2 routers. it would also give better WIFI coverage and use its USB port. The new router/modem is a CODA-4680-FIZ (2A) Firmware v7.2.4.5.2b8 WIFI: 802.11 a/n/ac, 2.4/5Ghz My router is a Netgear R6250 Firmware V1.0.4.48_10.1.30 WIFI: 802.11 a/n/ac, 2.4/5Ghz The printer is an old Brother HL-2040 with usb and no wifi. How would i do that ?Netgear R6220 wall mount screws
I have been unable to find a screw around the house that will fit the Netgear R6220 mounting holes on the bottom of the router. I have recently mounted a switch and a power strip on the wall without any major issues, but it seems as if the R6220 needs a specialty screw. Where can I find them and buy them? It needs to be both very small and very flat it seems. Every time I find a screw that looks like it might work, it's a bit off in some way. I've already got holes in my wall where I want it, but ran into this screw issue.Solved
