I have a pole barn for mechanical repair, welding projects, work benches. The building is grounded all metal walls and roof, concrete floor, no windows. I spend a lot of time in this building and would like to have a dependable wifi signal. During nice weather I can open the door and get a good wifi signal from my Orbi satellite in the nearby garage. During unfavorable weather with the door closed I cannot get a wifi signal. Years ago before Orbi, I had a Linksys router that my Netgear Extenders EX6100 and EX3700 would connect to. I drilled a hole in the steel wall and stuck an extender antenna out the hole and it worked great. Neither of these extenders will work with my Orbi system. I have not been able to identify an extender with external antenna that works with my Orbi system. In a perfect world I could buy a Orbi satellite with an optional external antenna to stick out the hole in the wall, however, no such thing. Can anyone suggest an extender with antenna that is simple to connect to an Orbi RBR40 router with RBW30 satellites? Simple is key, I'm not a skilled IT Tech. Hello, I am looking for an AP for my RV that would allow for Wi-Fi backhaul to another local AP. It needs to have an external antenna connector or a removable 2.4 or 2.4/5 antenna. I am thinking that a range extender could work but I would prefer to have my own SSID. A Mesh system would only work if the far AP was the same product. Do most AP's allow for non wired backhaul? Possibly one solution would be a range extender to the far AP along with a local AP using the extender's link as backhaul. ?538Views0likes1CommentNETGEAR R8000 AC3200 Nighthawk X6 Random restart and drop all connections
Hi, I have an issue with my NETGEAR R8000 AC3200 Nighthawk X6 router. I was working fine with default firmware V1.0.3.4_1.1.2. Couple of months ago I installed the latest firmware V1.0.4.88_10.1.88_hotfix. It was working fine until yesterday. Now I have following issues. Router stays on (All lights are on as normal but not blinking) but can't connect from any wired or wireless device. Simply wired PC to router also shows no network. Router randomly restarts every few seconds or hours. I keep the router in an open area. So it has good ventilation. I feel the issue arise when router is in load like downloading a large files over the internet. Please help me to fix the issue. Thank you.Solved1.8KViews0likes10CommentsR6700v3 went to reset now makes weird noise and lights aren’t on

Hello all, I am having issues setting up my Netgear EX6150v2 on my TMobile WiFi network using a TMO-G4AR router. Since I don't have a WPS button on my router, I started setting it up as instructed in extender mode through the Netgear installation assistant. I'm able to get all the way to the final steps of connecting my devices to the newly created extension networks, but I always get a "Could not connect the extender to the existing network" message, and the Router LED link never turns on. I'm not sure what's causing the hangup. I am 100% certain that I used the correct password for the existing network, and I have attempted a factory reset and reconnect to no success. Does anyone know if this is a user error, extender problem, or if my router is not compatible with this device? Thanks for the help,620Views1like0Comments5Ghz wifi not working
Hi all, Im having an issue with AX6000 router. Couple of days ago my 5ghz wifi network suddenly disappeared, i tried rebooting the router but it didn't help. I've reached out to customer support and tried following troubleshooting steps: - Reseting the router to factory settings - Renaming wifi connection - Downgrading firmware and upgrading it back - Changing wifi channels - Enabled 5ghz guest network with & without security - Result: "Cant connect to this network" None of those helped. Just few moments ago i performed hard reset of the router and even though the network is now visible my devices connect to it for a brief moment and then the connection is dropped. Before hard reset i was able to connect to network from my phone but there was "no internet connection" while my laptops were either unable to connect "Cant connect to this network" or it was not visible to the laptops at all. Current firmware is: v1.0.10.140 Is there anything else i can try?EAX20 extender issues
I have a Nighthawk RAX80 router and a AX1800 Mesh Extender EAX20 extender, it is connected however i am noticing that it will randomly lose connection to either the 2.4 ghz or the 5 ghz signal from time to time. Rebooting doesn’t bring it back, i have to go through the whole setup process again on the extender to get it back to normal. There is a nearby active ethernet port that is connected to the router, would i be able to connect the extender to ethernet rather than wireless meshing and still keep it in extender mode with One WiFi activated? Hi, my router has 4 years and since some time already, the internet goes off and disappears from the WiFi list of available networks on Apple. I reset quite often the fiber, modem, router boxes. Problem remains. ATT has this security free service (firewall?!?!) turned ON, could it be the problem? Should I switch it OFF? I believe I had donde that too and no big difference on R8000P going OFF and ON, irresponsiveness. Thank you994Views0likes3Comments
