device can not see network
This is a follow up to a previous thread on this subject which has now been closed.
I just wanted to add that I had considerable problems getting my android phone to connect to my Netgear router and tried all the suggestions mentioned on google about this problem. My phone was connecting to every other network ok bar netgear. My other devices were connecting to netgear without any problem. The solution for me was to change the wireless channel from channel 13 to another channel. In my case I chose channel 7 as there was no traffic on that channel. Hope this post helps others who might be having the same problem.
- The router and phone were both purchased in the UK. I had just returned from the USA where the phone worked perfectly on every wifi network. I only noticed when I got back to the UK that it wasn't picking up my netgear router although it was picking up every other network. The solution for me was to change the wireless channel on the router from the one that it was on (13)to 7.

Where did you purchase router and phone? Routers capable of using 13 are not sold in US or using 3rd party FW which if you're in the US is illegal and would explain why the phone didn't work.
Channel plans vary by location.

I understand it seems the phone is using the US plan which 13 is not part of. I was just curious!
Thanks
