Disappointed as a new customer.
As a new customer I was EXTREEMLY disappointed that NetGear, Aan Old tried and true company has fallen to such lows. You can't do the original install unless you do it from you PHONE! It took me almost a month to find the complete documentation on the unit and you Customer Support didn't want to talk to me. THeir only answer was Take it back to where you got it! I THINK I finally after working with it for two months got it working, but that is yet to be seen. Little bits of info scattered all over the web. THis is far from what I expect from a professional company. and then you don't even document (except in the fine print) that the Anti-Virus software is just a one month shot. Yo don' know how tempted I am to go back to where I came from, and I won't drop names here.

sorry to hear you had such a bad experience.
You don't need a phone to do setup. when you get to the setup page and it says "use the app", at the bottom, there's a link you can click to setup in the browser.
There's a support site with access to manuals, firmware, install guides, etc.
Go to https://www.netgear.com/support/
Type in your model number and from there it'll take you to the above.- esarhaddonAspirant
Even You lame CS agents could not give me any advice for finding the manuals or any way to set it up from my computer other than it was possible. Whne YOUR people don't know how I have no idea how I am supposed to find it. You have your information spread out far and wide all over the web instead of consolidated in one place and DESIGNATED IN YOUR INSERT. By the way I Just went over ALL documentation that came with the unit and there was NOTING about setting up via the computer which I tried blindly and was not able to do it. Before setting it up on my phone I had NO ACCESS to the unit via ethernet.
You realize this is the community support forum where members of the public help out?
We're not netgear. We're not paid for this. Just people like you trying to help.
but if you want to be rude and you were like this with the customer service people, I can see why you didn't get great help.
