E-mailing logs

I am trying to set up my router so it will e-mail me the logs everytime they are full. I am compleying all of the fields and clicking "apply" and its mot saving any of the information. The screen refreshes and everything is deleted. I tried several times with no luck. Any suggestions?

A secondary question: do i need to have my own mail server? I use web based programs such as yahoo and gmail. Do i need to have something set up on my own network?

Thanks in advance!!
  • Hi acaste4246,

    1. What is the model number and firmware version of the router?

    2. You can try the steps below.

    a. Log in to your Gmail then go to Settings.
    b.  Click on Accounts and Import then click Other Google Account settings.
    c. Go to Security Check-up.
    d.  Click on Disable access on less secure apps.
    e. Select the radio button to turn ON Access to less secure apps.
    f.  To test if it will send the logs via email, go to the router logs option on the router's GUI then click on Send Log.
    g.  You should now receive the router logs.

      Hello DexterJB...

      Thank you for the reply.

      1) Nighthawk R7000

      Firmware Version
      V1.0.7.10_1.2.3

I followed the steps you outlined and clicked on Security Check Up. I am prompted through a series of steps:

      1) Recovery Information

      2) Connected devices

      3) Check you account permissions

At this point there is no radio button as you described to turn ON Access to less secure apps.

Do you have any other suggestions for setting up the e-mail?

      Thank you,

      Anthony
