EX6100v2 extender won't connect to router
Hello,
I have installed a new router for my home private network (my provider is Spectrum; the router was installed by the tech). I am trying to connect my NetGear WiFi Range Extender Model EX6100v2. But, the extender will not recognize or connect to the new router. I have followed the instructions. I have tried the "Factory Reset". Nothing is working. The Router Link LED light does not come on at all.
Does anybody have a suggestion? I am open to the possibility of discarding the Extender and moving to a new way of extending the range of my current router.
Thanks,
Jerry Wujek

what router did you install?
What are all the leds on the extender doing? (color, blinking, solid, etc)
When you reset, did you push and hold for 7-15 seconds while the device was powered on?

The router is property of Spectrum (Charter Communications, Inc.).
When I plug the Extender into the electrical outlet (near the Spectrum router), the Router Link LED and the Client Link LED both blink red simultaneously, for a brief moment; then go blank. The Power LED eventually turns solid green. Within a few seconds, the Client Link LED turns solid amber for 5-10 seconds, then turns off. Then, I press the WPS button on the extender, it starts blinking green; then I press the WPS button on the Spectrum router. The extender WPS button blinks green for about a minute, then becomes solid green. About this time, the Client Link LED becomes solid green. But, the Router Link LED stays blank (it never turns any color).
I hold the reset button down for any time between 10 seconds to 45 seconds. It does not make any change in the extender behavior.
Thanks for any help you can give.

1. the charter router should still have a model number. its like when a mechanic asks you what model car you have and you say ford. that doesn't narrow it down.
2. ISP supplied routers are notorious for not working properly with WPS.
3. Try factory resetting the extender and installing using the installation assistant method and NOT wps.
