ex6110 wont connect to my arris nvg510, the router does not have a wps button and im not seeing it

the range extender will not connect to my arris nvg510 router. the extender is not being found by my wi fi set up page in my computer. the router does not have a wps button?

is this extender perhaps not compatible with this router?

    have you factory reset the extender? 

    Push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while the extender is powered on. 

    that should get you back to the defaults so you can use the installation assistant.
