Firmware upgrade 1.1.00.38 to 1.1.00.40 fails and process completes, still shows ver 1.1.00.38

Hi

Help needed please,

Firmware upgrade 1.1.00.38 to 1.1.00.40 fails and the process completes, router restarts and connects to the internet, but the router still shows ver 1.1.00.38 when reconnecting.

I have tried several times, putting the dmg file in different locations on the pc, and every time the same result, still ver 1.1.00.38...

Automatic update on the router going to netgear server 1 fails to identify any new firmware version.

This does not seem to be the problem previously noted where there is a period in the process where the firmware sticks and I can reboot to fix as that solution suggested.

Suggestions and advice welcome, and a solution please???

Thanks

However I have had the router for years, and done at least three upgrades previously, all successful. I know this as I have the files on the pc...

Tried with the files in different locations on the pc, and downloaded several times...

      Advice please

      Thanks
