Guest Network + Wireless access control
I like the security of "Access Control" filtering by mac address. Because it is painful to add guests when they visit my house I thought I would enable the guest network, keeping it separated from my internal network, with its own SSID, etc. However, it seems that the access control feature works for the entire router, not just for an individual network, which means it will continue to be painful to enable guests to have access to the internet. Is there a way to enbale access control (mac filtering) only for the internal network and not have it apply to the guest network? If not for this model (wnr2000v3), is there another model of Netgear wireless router that allows for such a configuration?
Hi scotb
Guest network cannot be excluded from the Access Control list.
You may need to keep your network to allow all devices to connect at first then set it to block after.
