How do I setup ipvanish on netgear N600 router?

This is the wrong place for fixing Asus problems.
It is a Netgear RT-N53 Dual-Band Wireless N600.
I've seen options where you have to install the DD-WRT firmware to add the VPN but when I looked at the DD-WRT site it didn't seem to offer a firemware for this router?
Also, I just found this YouTube video explaining how to set a a VPN without flashing the router. I would like to know if this would work for the router I am working on?
That model sounds from a different manufacturer. You can verify the model number here.
The router doesn't support IPVanish unless you use a different firmware or hardware.
