I have a Netgear nighthawk AC1900

How do I switch from 5G to 2.4G? My new security camer will not work with 5G

    If you're using smart connect, disable it. 

    Then you can choose which band to connect to

    If your camera can't connect to 5GHz it won't try to. It will ignore it.

     

    Can you explain the real problem? What are you doing and where does it go wrong?

     

    It might help if you said what this security camera is and now you are setting it up. My guess is a flawed setup process by whoever made the camera. That happens all the time.
