Internet blinking amber rapidly

So I just moved and transferred over my service with same modem and router. Internet is working just fine if I plug the Ethernet directly into my laptop, but when I plug it into router the internet light blinks rapidly an orange/amber color and all devices show connected to wireless network but no internet access. I have tried power cycling both modem and router and no changes. I’ve had no issues with either in the past.

       Ok.

After you've downloaded the firmware kit, why do you need to maintain
Internet access?  Forget the Internet.  Connect your computer to your
router, and do the firmware update.

Probably.  [www.]routerlogin.net should point to your own router, not
    to some outside-world Web site.

      Welcome to the community, NRod84

The router may probably need reconfiguration.

      Who is your ISP?

Try to follow the steps from the article below.

I recently lost my internet connection, how do I get my connection back?

Thank you, Elaine. My ISP is Spectrum/Time Warner. My router and this current modem worked just fine at my last place, so I'm unsure what happened in the move/transfer. I tried calling Spectrum and a tech walked me through the basics, but nothing changed.

I will see if the article you linked helps me.

Ok, so I read the article. I already tried powercycling and nothing.

I downloaded the latest firmware, but am supposed to connect my router via ethernet to my computer and log into www.routerlogin.net to manually update it. However, I'm using a laptop and only have one ethernet port and I need that to connect directly to modem to have internet.

Am I missing something? Or can I log into my router offline?
