I currently just updated my router to the latest software and before I was getting about 280 mbps and after installing the latest software I am now barely getting 200mbps. i've been reading and I saw that if you have had issues post software installment that you should reset the modem with the button on the back which I will after this post and reply if there was an improvement but I was wondering how could I improve my internet speed to have what I am paying for? Is it the router that needs changing? The modem? I heard that the 2in1 that your ISP gives you isn't that great which is why I bought the two a couple of years ago. Also I ran the internet speed test on my PC with CAT 8 ethernet cable before and post software update. Thank you for anyone willing to help me.
What is the device, brand name and model number, you are connecting to the R6400v2 and what application are you using to test the throughput capacity?
How is this unnamed device being connected to the router, by Wi-Fi or by Ethernet cable? If Wi-Fi, what band, 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz?
The binary file used to update a router is generally referred to as firmware and not software. What is the version number of the firmware you used to update your router? The term "The Latest" does not provide sufficient information to verify if it is correct and there may be additional versions available you are not aware of.
