mac address filtering how do I add a Mac address for my printer

I tried searching but not being very technical, can't quite find a solution. I hope one someone in the community could help me please.

I just installed the AC750 router and works perfectly fine with our laptops, playstation, etc. However I can't figure out how to get my printer to connect. I get a message from the printer saying 'If MAC address filtering is enabled you must add the MAC address of your printer' - but I can't figure out where to enter this.

Thanks !!

Hi - thanks for your replies.

I was able to figure it out, perhaps accidentally but it works now.

I pressed the WPS reset button (not sure what it means), I had to re enter the ISP details again for the internet, but then the printer just started working again.

    Cheers, Gina

  • Which AC750? Netgear makes several. AC750 is a wifi standard.

Find the model number on a label somewhere likes this:

    model number

  • BTW, I think you must have an AC1750 speed, (or possibly N750).

MAC address filtering is turned off by default, and I doubt that you enabled it.  If you had, you'd have needed to add the other devices that can connect.

So I think the connection problem must be something else.   Common problems include

    • selecting/typing the wrong network name
    • mistyping the passphrase
    • using the wrong security mode in the printer.

    • That was my thought. But it always helps to know which box we are talking about.

The solution is probably in the printer setup.

We don't even know if this is a wifi or USB connection for the printer.

You approach each in different ways.
