model r6400v2 router and have been trying to setup some ring cameras.
I am using a r6400v2 router to setup some ring cameras outside my house. I have one that has been working approx 100 ft from my house and stopped working unable to find the wifi signal. I purchased a netgear extender and it doesn't seem to help. The extender has the same wifi id as my router with a few extra characters. The camera recognizes the extender address, but will not connect.
Is there a router that would transmit a signal over a longer range. The signal is brought to my house thru fiber and is the basic plan.

This model router is mostly designed for in home use and maybe 10-20 feet signal coverage out side. Not meant for long distances.

100 feet is pushing it for WiFi from a mainstream router. Fine in theory, but real world experience may be different. You may have to look for something designed for the job.
The R6400v2 is based on an original from 2015, which was a middle of the road device.
You don't say which Netgear extender you bought. That is more important than the router. One of those cheap plug into the main devices might not work.
Then there is this:
The camera recognizes the extender address, but will not connect. Can you explain what happens? What is this "extender address"? How is the extender set up? WiFi to the router or wired as an access point?
Just another user with time on their hands.
