Moving a ReadyShare Drive from the Router

All,

I want to move my ReadyShare hard Drive from my NetGear router and connect it to my USB hub on my Laptop to access the stored files from the HD directly on my Laptop.  Is there an easy and effective way of doing this??

  • Hi pperciav,

If there is no need for your other devices in the network to access the hard drive via the router/ReadySHARE then you can just connect it straight to the laptop. It should not be an issue.

Thank you.  It worked fine.  I just wanted to ensure if I was introducing a different file system to the Laptop it would not try and reformat the drive as soon as I connected it.

Obviously it's a shared file system and everthing worked out perfectly.  Thanks for your support!!
