N600 Wireless Router works with Apple but not with PC
Today my N600 wireless router stopped working on the two wirelessly connected PCs, but continues to work fine with iPad4 and iPhone5s. It also works fine with a hard connection of a PC to DSL modem through the N600. Any ideas?
Recently we tried using the GUEST access for the first time. Our guest was able to connect to the network but not to the internet. Could these problems be related?
EEM3993 Make the names different from each other for identification which band you're connected to. It's possible that other wireless networks causes interference on your laptop. Try changing the channel. Best channels to try are 1, 6 and 11. If changing channel didn't work, try to do a 30-30-30 reset.
1. With the unit powered on, press and hold the reset button on the back of unit for 30seconds.
2. Without releasing the reset button, unplug the unit and hold reset for another 30 seconds.
3. Power on the unit while STILL pushing the reset button and count for another 30 seconds before letting it go.After resetting, reconfigure the router. Let us know what happens.

Hi EEM3993,
Welcome to the community!
Do you happen to have the correct wireless password? Do you remember any changes that happened on the two wireless computers? Are these two computers connecting to the router using 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz? You may want to check your wireless settings by access the configuration page of the router and see if you have the right credentials to connect on the wifi. Also, are these computers, laptops or desktops that have wireless adapters installed? If there are still no Internet access, reset and reconfigure the router. By the way, what is the exact model and version of your device? Let us know what happens.

ElaineM,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, the password was correct since it hasn't changed. The only changes to the wireless computers have been Mircosoft upgrades. Could that cause problems? The trouble seemed to start after we tried using the Guest login for the first time. My guest was able to login to the network but could not get onto the internet.
I have the two computers set up so they can connect on either 2.4 or 5Ghz. Same name and password for both. Could that cause problems?
One computer is a laptop and one is a desktop. Both are running Windows 7. They don't work on the wireless but my iPad4 and iPhone5s both work fine.
I have tried doing a factory reset on the router with no change.
My router is a Netgear N600, Model WNDR3400v3. I've checked for updates and there don't seem to be any available.
I'm wondering if the router just went bad. Any other ideas?
Thanks again for responding.

EEM3993 Try to make the names unique. It's ok to have same password. On those wireless computers, try to have them connected to another wireless connection for isolation. Perhaps you can turn on "Personal Hotspot" on your iPhone and see if your wireless computer can pick up the signal and connect to it. Do you know the current firmware version loaded on your router? The latest firmware for your router is version 1.0.0.48. The firmware version can be seen when you access http://www.routerlogin.net.
