I have a seagate 4 TB backup hard drive that it will not show on the Netgear c6300. Thank you for any walkthroughs. Appreciate it.

you did. It does not say what happened when you did it. As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations. Here's a radical concept which works for some people:

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look for "Share USB
Devices Attached to the Cable Modem Router" and "USB Stotage Device
Requirements". What's the file system on your (unspecified) "a seagate
4 TB backup hard drive"? Further reading might not hurt, either.- warefamily359AspirantThank you for your insight into how to submit a person for being a jerk. I submitted you to inappropriate content to the moderator due to your lack of caring and proper demeanor, and including a link that swears at and demand someone looking for help in a community forum. Furthermore the only reason anybody normally post in here is because they did all the basic methods that you tried to include and are looking for an elevated way of problem solving from basic issues. An adult at some point in your life should have told you if you don't have anything nice to say you don't say anything at all at home in person on their net or anywhere else in your life. Any further comments from you will result in another submission of inappropriate content to the moderator. Good luck in the future trying to be a kinder individual in the world.
I'm sorry that you feel upset, but I'm afraid there is one flaw in your response. You say:

Too many people give up after 10 minutes and turn to the manufacturer's website for help. Then they turn up here with vague questions that contain far too little information for anyone to help. You might be surprised at how many people, unlike you, don't even know what the model of their device is. Some don't even know what sort of Internet service they get.
Most of the users who try to help with these questions try to be sensitive and to understand where the questioner is coming from, but it isn't always easy.
I forgot to point you in the direction of the manual for your device:
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
and feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
You may have done this already, but I can't tell from your message.

Are we talking about ReadySHARE? ReadyCLOUD? Something else?
ReadySHARE USB is a crude alternative to grown up network attached storage (NAS). Only some drives are compatible.
This list will give you some clues, although it is far from comprehensive:

Sadly, "seagate 4 TB" could be one of dozen of devices.
4TB is about the limit, and even there you have to get the right formatting and have drive with no partitions.
This issue is a regular around here. You might find something useful with a search.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers about your hardware, in the appropriate section for your device. That's probably here:
