Netgear 6400 replacement power adapter
Hey guys!
I need a new power adapter for my Netgear R6400. The original one was 12v 2.5a, but i found only 12v 2a in my local store.
This link says that maximum power consumption is 23.23w, so i assume 12v*2a=24w will enough?

I personally would not use another power supply that cannot match the current (amps) that the original power supply produced. However from the power consumption figures it looks like it would power it. Wouldn't want you to waste your money if it doesn't work though

Agreed, but 2 amps might manage it. I have lost track of which Netgear transformer goes with which device, but they seem to work interchangeably regardless of their amperage.
Also I suspect that Netgear overspecifies the power needed. And there is a good chance that the 2 amps thing will work.
I can't see that Netgear will have a vast array if different transformers for the various devices it makes. Much easier to churn out 000s of transformers that have enough oomph (that's a technical term) for the most demanding router/modem.
If this is a universal transformer, just ensure that it has a tip that lets you deliver the right polarity to the router.

I running a 12 volt 8 amp power supply on my old wndr3400v1 router and they can be founded on ebay at low prices.
