Netgear AC 1750 dual band wifi mesh extender will not recognize Viasat router

Hi everyone, I had a bad reciever replaced on my Viasat dish today and a new modem along with it. My Netgear extender has worked fine for 6 months, after the maintenence work today it's no good. I downloaded nighthawk, which may have been a mistake as its of no use. Any ideas on how to get the extender to link with the modem? Any help would be appreciated!

    what model number is the new router? 

    When you're installing the extender, are you using wps or using the installation assistant? 

    Try using the installation assistant.
