Netgear N600 Sporadic Connectivity Issues - Wired
Greetings, I've owned a Netgear N600 for almost exactly 1.5 years, it has worked fine until last week. I use a wired connection even though it is a wireless router. Symptoms: On regular 240...

Hello jgenac,
Welcome to the community!
The connection seems intermittent whenever the router is in place.
Since you have upgraded to the latest, try to reset and reconfigure the router.
Push the reset button on the router for 20 seconds with a paperclip.
Resetting will restore the settings to default settings. Once reconfigured, observe the connection.
If the problem persists, try to lower down the MTU to 1400. To adjust the MTU, you may follow the steps from this link.
Looking forward to your response.

Here is a screenshot of data flowing through my router into my pc stopping at regular 4 minute intervals:
This happens with extreme consistency throughout the day, and does not happen when my pc is plugged directly into my modem via an ethernet cable.
Just tried a firmware upgrade to no avail.
Once again, this happens when wired via ethernet directly into my router or on wifi. I primarily use a wired connection.
Customer support is blaming this on a "config issue" even though I have not touched any settings on the router admin console, neither recently or when I first got it.

Hi ElaineM,
Lowering the MTU to 1400 seems to have fixed the issue - haven't had a lapse in router traffic in several hours since I've used your fix.
What went wrong with my device? Thanks a bunch!-James

You're welcome, James!
It's experiencing bottlenecks.
Adjusting the MTU chopped the big chunks into smaller pieces to pass through.
