netgear n750 wndr4300- Printer support requests enable ports for Event Manager

Using Windows 10.  Computer will connect and print to Epson WF 3640.  Can scan from control at computer.  Will not scan and retrieve to computer from printer control panel.  Epson support indicates "enable UDP/TCP ports for Epson Events Manager (port # 2968)".  I'm a little unsure how to proceed, Netgear manual not clear.

Thanks, USAF

  • Your Netgear is unlikely to be involved.  Make sure you have the proper printer drivers and utilities installed.  You can find the latest for the WF 3640 here.

      Hey TheEther,

I downloaded an update to the drivers and utilities.  Unfortunately, I still cannot access the computer as a retrival destination from the keypad on the printer.  The printer can only see the USB port that is resident on the printer and the cloud, which I will not use.

I do thank you for your input.

      • First, you'll want to make sure Windows is set up to treat your network as a home network.  This article is helpful.

Second, you may need to open up the firewall in Windows to allow the Epson Events Manager to be accessible from the network.  This article may help.

If you still have trouble, then you may need to find a Windows forum for help.  Check the Epson manuals for tips, too.
