New ISP at apartment building. No modem, just Ethernet wall jack. Setup?

I have an AC1750 Wi-Fi Router (R6400v2). We just got a new ISP at my apartment. We no longer have a modem. They put Ethernet port (not sure if that's the right term) in the wall. Their instructions were, "Plug in your Wireless Router's Ethernet cord into the wall outlet, then connect power, next connect the Ethernet to the Internet port on your router. See router manual for additional information." All the instructions I find talk about using a modem, which I don't have. I'm not able to connect to the Internet. Thanks in advance for the help.

It was something that was messed up on their end.  I was nervous because they said if it was due to user error (i.e., "my fault"), they would charge $75 for the technical assistance.

The instructions they've given don't provide much detail.

Do they offer any login details for your account? Username and password?

It depends on what sits at the other end of that wall socket and how the Internet gets to you. If it is fibre all the way, then it could be a simple case of plugging it into the Internet socket. Reset the R6400v2 before you try that.

If this fails, then one option is to put the R6400v2 into Access Point mode.
