Newly installed AC1750 R6400 wont show 5G network

I installed a new Netgear AC1750 router last night, model #R6400. The 5G light is on and settings say it is enabled but it will not show up as an avaliable network. My 2.4 network shows but not the 5G. Both networks have different names. I have a laptop, iphones, ipad and tablets, none of which will show the 5G network. We bought this router for both networks but not sure what to do about the 5G.

  • Hi koreo1108,

You can try the following steps:

    1. Change the wireless channel for the 5GHz band. You can use a WiFi analyzer app/program to check for the best channel.

    2. Make sure that the 5GHz LED is lit.

    3. Press the WiFi on/off button on the device.

    4. If the issue persists, re-flash the router's firmware then reset and reconfigure the settings.

    Hi Needtoknow1,

    1. What is the firmware version of the router?

    2. Do all or some of your devices support the 5GHz band?

    3. Please make sure that the 5GHz band is set to broadcast the SSID.

    4. Have you tried resetting the router?

    Regards,
