It's not a combo? I've used the n300 for about 4 yrs as a stand alone modem/router. Not hooked up to a modem. I bought the nighthawk last night thinking it would work as a stand alone. It does not from what it appears ??
Your old device was the WNR2000? and there's nothing else connected to it?

- Yes that is my old device and used as a stand alone. EPB is my provider. It our local power company. Guess I should call them.
