Not allowed to hard wire to lanlords router

I am not allowed to hardwire to my landlords router, which is required for my work minitower. I have full access to my landlords wifi. I am not able to have an ISP install. My room is dorm style under 500sqft. Should I buy WAP and the connect my personal router to the WAP and wire my mini tower to my personal router. Need recommendationson make/model

If that is all you want to do, get something that connects the minitower to the wifi.

    Something like this:

Buy Wireless USB WiFi Adapters | WiFi Adapters | NETGEAR

We have no idea what your "personal router" might be. But that won't get you very far as two routers on a network are a recipe for disaster.

You might get a wireless extender to work.

WiFi Boosters & Extenders | Wifi Range Extenders | NETGEAR

Getting that to work depends on the source of the wifi. And that is down to your landlord

I'd also check into a pci based adapter. You don't put what mini-tower you have but in my experience, the PCI based cards (even if using an pci adapter) tend to be more stable/faster than the usb variety. And they're pretty reasonably priced as well. so it might be worth checking to see if you have an available slot for your minitower.

I have looked into adding an M.2 socket for wifi card. Modern motherboards have a slot for those.

These cards can also do Bluetooth as well as wifi 6.

Netgear got out of the "card" market some time ago. So you'll have to look elsewhere.
