Not in range error

Router has been working great for ~10  years.  Now,  no wireless devices (smart phones, tablets) can logon. Can see networks but "not in range" error appears for my network, (router is approximately 2 ft away).  Hard wired devices (desktop, printer) still work and access the net with no problems.  Powered off (unplugged power) and back on. Same result.

  • I did a "factory reset" and that fixed the problem  (plus I now know the admin password since I got to re-establish it). Thanks to all for the help

    Hello phonore

    Welcome to the community!

Try to remove all the wireless preferred networks on this devices or forget this network.

Once done, reconnect to the wireless network. If the same thing happens, try to change the channel on the router.

See this link on how to change the wireless channel.

  • I'd download and run inSSIDer or Acrylic WiFi survey utility to see the status of signal. Could you try

another WiFi device, not the one you tried already.

Tried an Iphone, an android phone and an android tablet - same result.  Phones aren't here right now and can't download Acrylic to tablet without wi-fi. My desktop is hardwired to the router and works fine but won't work with Acrylic. Thanks for trying

There is a possibility radios are dying. Any failure can happen any time. Normal working router even with antenna

disconnected can give better signal than that. Try after f/w reflash maybe to confirm.
