Orbi crashing after firmware upgrade

I have an RBR40, which is not even an option to enter in the model field above. Anyway, its worked fine since the day I installed it, until today. A day after executing the firmware update I was sent. I had to restart four times throughout the day. Anyone else have this issue? Any way to undo a firmware update?

"the firmware update" from what to what?

I'm sure that dozens of psychics are reading this and saying to
themselves, "Yes!  That exact same firmware update caused me the same
    problem!"

       Install older firmware?

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Downloads.  (For older versions, under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".)  Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want.  Read the "Release Notes" file for
instructions.  (In the User Manual, look for "firmware", and,
especially, for a topic like "Manually Upload Firmware to the Router".)
When that fails because of a deficient User Manual, try:

When going backward, it sometimes helps to to a settings reset and
    manual reconfiguration.

  • I don't actually know what the previous firmware I was running was, but the firmware update was to v2.6.2.104.

I did a factory reset last night, and although its still got that new firmware version, it seems to have done the trick. At least so far. We'll see how today goes...

         For _which_ model?

"factory reset" is a misnomer.  It's a _settings_ reset, and has no
      effect on the firmware.

  • After installing firmware update V2.6.2.104 on 03/28/21, RBR40 router goes offline several times a day. This requires router reboot to bring online. What's the fix to improve stability?

I did a hard reset on both my router and satellite (paperclip in the small reset hole on back of hardware) and reconfigured it all from scratch. It's worked just fine since, though. Stability back to what it was prior to firmware upgrade. knock on wood.

Stability restored after hard reset of router and satellites (paper clip into device reset opening). Thanks for the solution!
