Orbi ethernet outlet

My modem is in the basement, I got a ethernet outlet upstairs main level and that cable that runs from the outlet behind the wall is plugged into my modem in the basement, now, can I plug in the orbi router upstairs into that ethernet outlet and just have one satellite on the second floor? Or does the orbi router have to be directly plugged into the modem in the basement?

I can't see your cable or where it goes.  If it connects the right
things, then it should work.  If a short cable works, then a longer
cable (up to 100m) should work.

Not a model number.  Look for "Model" on the product label.

Normally, that's a modem+router.  If you want to use it with a
separate router, then you should configure it as a modem-only (sometimes
    called "bridge mode").

What is it?  Maker?  Model number?

       Define "directly".

You need to connect the WAN/Internet port on the router to an (the?)
Ethernet port on your (unspecified) modem.  You should have no other
Ethernet connections to the modem.  Any suitable cable up to 100m should
    work.

Im wondering if i can just plug my orbi router into the ethernet outlet on the first floor(living room) via ethernet cable....that outlet(the ethernet outlet) in the living room has an ethernet cable (obviously since it’s an ethernet outlet)running down to my basement, (behind the walls) and is plugged into my centurylink modem..is that the same as if i had the orbi router in the basement plugged to my modem via ethernet cable?
