Portforawing help
So i'm trying to set up a remote adminstration tool on my server through my home pc, my ISP provided a new better router that allows my internet speed to be much faster although, this router is causing grief whenever I try to portforward, canyouseeme.org shows my port connection to be refused instead of timed out, and my windows firewall on the static ipv4 device allows incomming and outgoing connections on that port, so my belief is that the isp router portforwarding doesnt simply work (with research on vodafone routers, im finding im not the only person with this issue, and without any soloution), on my previous router I had this same issue, but I was able to connect my Nighthawk r8000 router to the router, essentially using the vodafone router as a bridge/modem to the netgear, and running my main connection off the netgear, because the netgear router doesnt have a DSL line connection for internet only ethernet, previously with my old vodafone router, i was able to connect this router to the netgear 3rd party router and set up portforwarding on the netgear with success, but now it doesnt work whenver I do the same with the new router and same netgear.
Now this soloution doesnt work, whenever I use this solotuion, im able to go to routerlogin.net, my default ethernet gateway is 10.0.0.1, which also brings me to the routerlogin.net. but the port mapping doesnt work.
Anyone see anything im doing wrong here?

ISP supplied routers can be PITA if they don't have or their bridge mode doesn't function properly.
Have you tried simply using the R8000 in access point mode and the vodafone in router mode?

Because there's another NAT router between your R8000 and your ISP.

Yes. You're cascading multiple NAT routers. Typical one-router
schemes involve either a modem-only and a router, or else a modem+router
and a wireless access point. Which would you prefer? (Or, which
options does your new (unspecified) "a new better router" allow?)- scary13Aspirant
On my vodafone router the portforwarding doesnt work, port mapping rule is applied on the router, inbound and outbound allowed on port rules applied on home pc.
Called thier '''''TECHNICAL SUPPORT''''' helpline, and they didnt know what portforwarding was and I had to explain everything, the person's solution was to set up a wifi split???? and that he'd call me back in 7 days after monitoring my use, which seemed like an excuse to end the call after 1 hour of him not knowing anything???
The netgear one doesnt get used as a wifi, could I possibly buy a modem, and have it run into the vodafone router for general use, and another line from the modem to the netgear router for my pc / portforwarding use?
I barely understood your reply haha

What, exactly, is your (unspecified) "my vodafone router"?
How, exactly, did you configure port forwarding on it?
"doesn[']t work" is not a useful problem description. It does not
say what you did. It does not say what happened when you did it. As
usual, showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results
(error messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.> [...] port mapping rule is applied on the router, inbound and outbound
> allowed on port rules applied on home pc.I don't know what that means.

I don't know what that means.> [...] could I possibly buy a modem, and have it run into the vodafone

router"? Perhaps, if I knew anything about it, then I might be able to

Generally, from an actual modem, you can connect one device,
typically a router. So, no, you couldn't run "another line from the
modem to" anything.> I barely understood your reply haha
I don't understand at all how you expect to get any useful advice
about your (unspecified) "my vodafone router".
