powerline PL 1000v2 adding extra outlet

Hello

I have a 1000V2 that works fine at home but I need an additional outlet to reach more rooms in my house in France.

I am not sure what outlet to buy, can I buy the EX61300 or the EX 7300  to add to my existing ?

Or woudl you recommend another product ?

Kind Regards

Eric

  • Are you wanting to connect powerline units to your additional unit?

    I'm confused.

the neither of those devices is a powerline unit. just a basic wireless extender

Thanks plemans for your swift answer

I have bought this product few years ago : Amazon link

It works fine but I would like to have teh wifi in some additional rooms now, hence would like to add an extra unit (relay? adapteurs?) or two.

When I bought it i thought that it was easy to increase the number of relay by just adding as needed : Utilisation notice

But since it appears they dont do this product anymore I wonder what product (adapter/unit/relay/outlet) I can add to my existing system to have wifi in an additional room

      Hope i am clearer

      Eric

Are you wanting that device to connect via powerline like the PLW1000 does?

they make powerline device with built in wifi.

Sadly, netgear only sells them as a kit.

But with powerline, you can use other providers powerline devices. That device uses the homeplug AV2 powerline spec.

so any wifi/powerline device with av2 would connect to it as well.

Or you could use wifi extenders. up to you how you'd like to do it.

Or you could even switch from using powerline to using a mesh system like netgear orbi

    Like plemans, I am confused.

The PL1000v2 is a Powerline plug. The EX6130 and  EX7300 are wifi range extenders. You can't add them to Powerline

What do you want to add? More wired outlets? More wifi sources?

I use Powerline to connect an Orbi router in AP mode to my main router.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

Maybe I need to reword :

I currently have a Powerline 1000V2 in my home. I bought it few years ago because some part of my house where too far from my router and i could not get any wifi in these rooms.

Now I want to reach (i.e. provide wifi) even more rooms that are even further away.

What would you suggest/advise I do on to my exisitng system (Powerline 1000 V2) in order to reach (have wifi) more rooms that are further away ?

      hopefully clearer now

Both the answers you received still apply. You haven't added much in the way of new information.

My first move would be to see if you can get your existing equipment to provide wifi in the rooms you want to reach.

If that works, then decide if you want to buy more Powerline equipment, with or without built in AP, or if you want to use wifi extenders, either in repeater or AP mode.
