Printer won't connect

Unable to acess my Brother MFC-465CN printer (non-WiFi) on my network.  I have it connected via ethernrt cable as I've done in the past with other modem/routers. I have checked the cable and tried other ports without luck. I have another device (Ooma phone box) connected via ethernet cable and it is working fine. Any help appreciated!

Thanks for the help netwrks. After many frustrating hours, I ended up stumbling upon the solution by just doing a Factory Reset on my printer. After that, the printer was "visible" to all our devices and we can now print via WiFi.

  • Have you configured  the printer in the past with a static IP Address? If yes, does it match the subnet of your current router?

Not sure how to do what you suggest but am willing to learn if you tell me how to find the printer's IP Adress and subnet...

In the past all I would do is open the "devices and printers" panel, click "search for new printer," it would appear, and I would select it, and done.

Yesterday, as part of my troubleshooting, I removed the printer first from my devices and then tried find it on the new router without any luck. Today, I did a reset my computer to an ealier date so that the printer now shows in my devices again. When I search for it, the router appears to see it now, however when I install it, I can't print anything as the printer shows "off line" (even after I turn off and on again).

Does the router have some sort of "firewall" blocking the ethernet ports? I searched all the tabs on the "Genie" and couldn't find any mention of firewalls...

You can give the printer a static IP address using the printer menu to input data. Printer Manual - Menu - Pge 141  - Network Page 145.
