R6220 firmware update

I get the message from GUI of login page that a new firmware is available for upgrade. It states that the latest version is V1.1.0.64. But the download is stopped in the midway. I check the websit of support of Netgear. It shows that the latest firmware is V1.1.0.66. Since I purchase the router in HK. Is it safe to upgrade the firmware using the download one from support website?

Unless the firmware kit says that it's only for some other region, it
should be ok.  Just follow the instructions in the Release Notes.

  • Your subject line says R6220 but the footer says R6200. (Maybe Netgear's system doesn't give you the right option) Firmware is not transferable between different models.

If you plan to do a manual upgrade – the preferred option for many people – ensure that you get the right firmware.

You won't do any damage – it will refuse to accept the wrong firmware – but it could confuse you.

Just to confuse matters, there are (at least) two versions of the R6200. You need the right one for your version.
