R6220 Wifi Router ERR_SSL_KEY_USAGE_INCOMPATIBLE when try to access login screen from Chrome browser
Nighthawk R6220, FW version V1.1.0.114_1.0.1
Suddenly started getting ERR_SSL_KEY_USAGE_INCOMPATIBLE from Google Chrome browser running on Windows 10.
I can still log into router admin page from Edge browser.
Anyone know what's up with this?
Michael
Sharing the solution I found.
Trying to access the router's login page via browser started failing on Chrome browser.
Bookmarked page was : www.routerlogin.net/index.htmChanged link to go to
www.routerlogin.net(Omit the /index)
And now I can access the router's login page.Sharing this in case anyone else runs into this issue.

What tells you that this has anything to do with your router?
Did you try this?
ERR_SSL_KEY_USAGE_INCOMPATIBLE - Google Search
Not a lot of router mentions there.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Yes, I had done a search and my understanding is that it has to do with the certificate that the R6220 router is providing. It has some issue that Google is now buckling down on. I believe that the R6220 fw needs an update to fix the certificate that it provides. But I'm not 100% sure, and I'm not seeing anything from NetGear about updating the FW.

Routers are certainly getting increasingly dictatorial on what they see as security issues. But there is usually have a loophole that let's you accept the security risks. These mostly arise from attempts to access http sites. You will only see those when you try to use a web browser to access the router;s graphical user interface (GUI). As that is local, http is fine. Certificates don't come into it. Nor do they feature regularly in firmware problems here.
