R6230 Slow Connection Speeds, reboots fixes temporarily

Hello,

I have been fighting over this R6230 for quite some time.  I have a PC connected to it with Cat 5E cable.  And internet speed tests will show a max of 80Mbps download.  If I Reboot the R6230, the download speeds will jump up to 300Mbps download (what I pay my ISP for).  This will usually last for a few days, then things will slow down back to 80Mbps again.  Reboot the router then I'm good for a few days.  Rinse, repeat, do the same thing over again.  What is wrong with my router?  I tried different cables, to no avail.  Router has the latest firmware, 1.1.0.114_1.0.1

What else can I try, other than replacing the router.

    Tested how?

It might help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router, if there is one. The make and model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?

The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.
