R6300 firmware

Find more-savvy people. "<anything>.netgear.com" does not indicate a
problem; "netgear.com.<anything>" would. But the "From:" field on a
message can't be trusted.

Thanks for quick and thoughtful response. Sounds like email and firmware may be legitimate, and the Company just isn't very polished in how they communicate.
A good way to deal with that email, which comes up often and is legitimate, is to visit the support pages for your hardware. Then you can look to see if there is new firmware. Many people prefer applying these update manually as it gives them more control and is less liable to fall over.
