r6300v2 can this router be used as a wireless extender?
Hi, is it possible to configure the R6300v2 router as wireless extender (not as bridge mode)? Thanks, Klaus

Like I said, not all routers will work as wifi repeaters. Some do, the AC1450 for example, and the manual will say so. (Look for WDS.) Sadly, this isn't the case for your box.
So you are left with two options, buy a wifi repeater, or find a way to use your r6300v2 as an access point. If you don't want to run wires around the place, Powerline Ethernet is another option, albeit one that costs money. Then you could just plug your router, configured as an access point, to the "remote" plug.
But if you are doing that you could also investigate Powerline options in which the remote plug has an access point built in. But your router is probably much more powerful than any of those devices.

Thank you for the fast response.
Unfortunately an access point does not help me, as I do not have a ethernet cable at the place I want to put the additional wifi station.
I suspect it is not possible to use this router as a wireless extender (which is the only configuration I am interested in).
Am I right?
