R6300v2 firmware V1.0.4.46_10.0.93 No 2.4Ghz network
R6300v2- new to me but used, was having work from issues for wife and kid so took out the WNDR 3700 we had since 2009.
Things seemed to be great at first. I set the 2.4 and 5Ghz netorks to both have the same password. but i grew a little concerned that i could only see one network when in the past there were two. At first i chalked it up to the combined network(im not good at this) but it kept bothering me so i investigated since i had done a hard reset before set up, i figured i should look for firmware updates and check my settings. I went to the settings and figured if i gave both networks different passwords, i would see both. No luck, only 5ghz shows up. i tried disabling them individually, no 2.4ghz no matter what i tried on multiple computers. My guess is i need to get another router( gave the old one away already...) and start over.
Also, was sure the firmware noted above was older with newer available, but the netgear manager tells me no newer firmware...
Any insights into these issues is appreciated.

You can manually update it.

Try manually updating. Then do a factory reset and reinstall.

Finally had the time, upgraded the firmware to version V1.0.4.52_10.0.93
I thought i has seen there was something newer.
I gave the 2.4 and 5 different ssids and passwords and i can now see both networks.
If i do a "reset" will it send the firmware back or will it stay what i updated too?
when you reset, it just removes settings. the firmware will be the same you installed
