R6350 (AC1750) doesn't recognize USB
Just tried to connect a USB to my AC1750 router (R6350) for ReadySHARE use between 2 computers. I can't even get the USB to show up in my Routerlogin.net. I am such a novice that every article I've looked up is both ultra-confusing, and doesn't match anything I see when I try what they say. Both are Windows 10 computers, both are connected wirelessly to the router. I have tried 3 brand new 32 GB (formatted) usb flash drives but it simply won't recognize them. I tried throwing the router out the window but then I realized I needed it for my wireless connections. Any other suggestions are welcome, but I think I've concluded this ReadyShare really doesn't work so I'll have to buy a Network Drive. Firmware is V1.1.0.88_1.0.1 and it says no new firmware updates exist. Should I try throwing it out the window again?

The router in the C6230 does not work, that's why I bought the R6350. I plugged the USB into the R6350.
Did you ever try to work out why the router in the C6230 failed?
Have you gone into the C6230 and disabled the router bit?
It may appear to be defunct to you, but if the router bit remains active, even if it doesn't work it could interfere with the operation of your network.

What is that USB device?
Not sure what you did in Routerlogin.net.
Have you used a web browser and the graphical user interface (GUI) to look at the ReadySHARE settings?
Both are Windows 10 computers, both are connected wirelessly to the router. What modem/gateway/ONT that connects the router to the Internet?
Firmware is V1.1.0.88_1.0.1 and it says no new firmware updates exist. That is the latest firmware, but don't rely ion the onboard check to be accurate.

Thanks for the quick response.
USB is Topesel 64 GB formatted exFAT
In Routerlogin.net I simply clicked on USB Storage then ReadySHARE and it does not show any usb devices.
Modem is Netgear C6230
Router is R6350
If you can help, great. I'm not looking to share massive files, so even though I don't trust having my stuff in Microsoft One Drive I can do that for a handful of files that have no confidential info. I just thought that since this feature theoretically exists on my router I may as well try it.

Your are running those two together?
Which one did you plug the USB device into?
They are both routers. Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local address problems. Among other things, the other router can misdirect addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.
This explains some of the other drawbacks.
What is Double NAT? | Answer | NETGEAR Support
Unless you have specific reasons for using two routers – to create two separate networks for example – it is often easier to use just one router and then to set up the second router as a wifi access point. Netgear advises this, as does just about every site you will visit.
It may be possible to put the modem/router into modem only (bridge) mode and then to use the second device as the router. Sometimes it is easier to put the second router into AP mode. But that has its own drawbacks:
Disabled Features on the Router when set to AP Mode | Answer | NETGEAR SupportThe good news is that even in AP mode, the R6350 should support ReadySHARE.

ReadySHARE does not support ExFAT.
